Kenya's Korir Given Five-year Doping Ban

Former New York Marathon victor Albert Korir has been banned for 5 years aft admitting to doping.

The 32-year-old Kenyan tested affirmative for CERA - a potent blood-boosting constituent and modern version of EPO - crossed 3 out-of-competition tests successful October 2025.

All of Korir's results since October will now beryllium disqualified, including his 3rd spot successful nan New York marathon past November.

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) stated that his prohibition will expire connected 7 January 2031, pinch Korir benefiting from a one-year simplification by admitting to nan violations.
